Our Process
A creative project has many stages. This guide aims to explain the process of development for websites and other projects and when payments should be made.Stage 1 - Pre-Production
This stage of development is where a project is planned. To some extent this stage is commenced in the process of providing a quotation as a loose plan needs to exist for this. Often this stage entails lots of meetings, discussions and creative juices. In this stage the purpose for the project is assessed, ideas are formulated, and design and development plans are produced. These must all be approved by the client before proceeding to the production stage. These plans may be reworked, but a limit may be set on the number of times this can be done at no extra cost.
Stage 2 - Production
This is the stage where the project is put together. For a design project this will be the production of the artwork at the correct resolution and in the required format. For website projects the site will be coded in HTML and any CSS, JavaScript and Flash elements built. Development projects can use a wide range of languages. Our most common is PHP using mySQL databases. This stage sees these databases, scripts, interfaces etc. put together.
Production runs in accordance with the plan developed in the pre-production stage. If a deviation to the plan must be taken then the client will be consulted and their approval attained.
Stage 3 -Testing and QC
After the design is completed, we have to make sure there
are no bugs in any scripts, that the site passes accessibility
guidelines, that it functions on all modern browsers, and that it has been fully tested to ensure that it is running efficiently.
Stage 4 - Population, Launch
At this stage, content is added. This is then proof-read to ensure accuracy. We will not proceed to launch until the client has signed off the finished project.
Once the website/app/game goes live, we will deliver any ongoing training to the site's owners as required.
