Magento Community Edition
Magento community edition is open source and free to download. It is a fantastic way to start off in ecommerce and is very flexible. Many of the features of the professional and enterprise editions end up coming to the community edition but this is not guaranteed. Magento CE can be customised and extended as is required giving a very powerful ecommerce site where the only cost is in design, implementation and extension of the core software.Magento Professional Edition
Magento professional edition has all the power of hte community edition but is also PA-DSS complient and has a number of additional revenue generating features such as store credits and reward points. A licence for Magento professional edition starts at $2,995 / year in addition to the design and development cost.Magento Enterprise edition
Magento enterprise edition is the premium grade version of Magento coming with guarantees and PCI compliance and a number of enterprise only features. The search and email marketing features of Magento enterprise are completely reworked and BridgeConnect allows import / export options with enterprise ERP solutions such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. The advanced CMS+ system included also allows full content staging. The software license for Magento enterprise edition starts at $12,990 / year.What is Magento Mobile?
Magento have launched the only general release native mobile ecommerce platform. It is currently available on iPhone / iPod touch but will be available on Android and iPad platforms later this year. The start-out cost for Magento mobile is $799 with an annual $699 for maintenance of the application. In addition to this we only charge for the setup process.
Each mobile framework has a source code licence option which enables us to modify the standard Magento mobile function. This enables a customised / personalised applicatiion to run from e.g. a Magento Enterprise edition store.
