Yet another blog (hopefully a useful one though)

Yep, this is our blog. I know everybody and their cat seems to have a blog these days but we are going to try and actually make this useful. We are going to blog about useful things that we find out during the course of our work as well as talk about our experiences as a newish (18 months old at time of writing) web development company.
So, lets introduce people:
First we have Martin (that’s me). I guess you would say that I’m the boss. I am MD so I guess that’s correct. I have done web development for over a decade, initially as a hobby, then for actual real money! I do a bit of everything but my superhero ability is definately PHP/MySQL. I do a bit of design and a bit of SEO ad other marketing work and I do a bit of sales and a bit of accounting and a bit of everything else too. It is probably incredibly geeky but tha thing I love about my work is taking a huge amount of data and making it manageable. This usually takes a database, a nice clear admin area and a cunning user interface. Wha treally gives me satisfaction is when someone says “I had a look at the site and I actually understood it!”. Sad I know!
Next we have Ben. Ben is our Creative Lead and his job is to make things look pretty! He is a pretty talented guy with good design, flash and usability skills as well as a good dose of general coding and Magento (eCommerce) development experience. Ben is also in charge of the creative direction for all our projects.
Then we have Matt. Matt is our Business Account Manager. His job is to act as the go between for our clients and ourselves. Matt acts as the face of MS Internet to a great extent but he also talks to our clients to understand what their needs are and then represents them to us. Matt is an avid poker player so wathch out for the bluff! Matt also has responsibility for our internet marketing work including SEO, PPC and email marketing.
Behind the scenes we also have Mick and Zoe. Mick does the book-keeping to make sure that the bills are paid on time and Zoe keeps us in line with admin and office management duties!
